FAME Recording Studios was established in 1959. World renowned for creating "Southern Rock", "Southern Soul" and "Country Soul, an almagamation known as "the Muscle Shoals Sound",FAME has worked with everyone from Aretha Franklin to ZZ Hill. In the last 50 years, FAME has been involved in recording or publishing records that have sold over 350 million copies world wide.

Award Winning recording engineer Tom Swift has joined the FAME Studios staff as Chief Engineer. Tom has won 2 Grammy's and been nominated for 7. Tom's recording credentials reads like a who's who of music including, Eric Clapton, Don Henley, AC/DC, Miles Davis, Pat Metheny, B.B. King and Tania Maria. Tom has also worked on many soundtracks including "The Color Of Money", "Postcards from the Edge", "Let's Spend the Night Together-Rolling Stones". Working on these soundtracks with artist such as Robert Palmer, Robbie Roberson and Mark Knopfler.
Tom Swift
In 1980 he joined the staff at Record Plant Studios, NYC ; during which time he worked on hundreds of studio recording projects as well as live recording with Record Plant Remote recording. In 1984 Tom started Swift Kick Productions free-lancing as a recording/mix engineer. Since that time, he has worked with hundreds of artists and producers worldwide, and has worked extensively in major studios in Europe, South America, the USA and Japan. FAME is proud to have an engineer of Tom's quality working in our world renown facility.
Tom has done work in many genres of music-classical, rock, pop, jazz, commercial production and film. Some of his film credits include: The Devils Own, Beautiful Girls, Postcards From the Edge, Tieta, Flirting With Disaster and The Color Of Money (where he worked with contributing artists Robert Palmer), Eric Clapton, Don Henley, Mark Knoffler and Robbie Roberson -among others. Album credits include; AC/DC, Miles Davis, Pat Metheny, Eric Clapton, Tania Maria, Madonna, Caetano Velosa, Peter, Paul & Mary, Rolling Stones, and Paquito D'Rivera. Recent projects include recordings with the Mingus Big Band, Yaron Gershovsky (Manhattan Transfer), and the NYU Jazz Orchestra with Teo Macero.
Recently Tom has finished new projects with Bob DeVos, Don Friedman, the Pizarelli Brothers, Fernando Otero, Nick Danielson , Udi , a release of live recordings with Buddy Rich and his famous "Killer Force" band and has been producing "The Vanguard", an explosive Indie/Pop/Alternative Band, from New York City.
He is a seven time Grammy nominee (including Best Jazz recording for recordings with Miles Davis in 1987 and the Mingus Big Band in 2005). He was also nominated for best Latin Pop recording in 1999 (Donato Poveda) and also Academy nominated for best soundtrack for The Color Of Money. His work with Paquito D'Rivera won the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz album.
